Marion County Public Schools announces candidates for interim superintendent

OCALA, Fla. (WCJB) – Leaders with Marion County Public Schools have released their candidates for interim superintendent.

It comes following the resignation of Dr. Diana Gullett effective at the end of the 2024-2025 school year.

There are a total of seven candidates in contention for the interim role.

  • Dr. Danielle Brewer
  • Dr. Robert Craig Ham
  • Donna Cress
  • Dr. Anthony Hamlet
  • Melissa A. Kinard
  • Dr. Wayne Rodolfich
  • Dr. Timothy A. Smith

Three of the people on the list either work for or have previously worked for MCPS.

The expected yearly salary for the position ranges from $125,987 to $169,333, commensurate with experience, according to MCPS officials.

MCPS officials said school board members are expected to discuss their final candidates in a work session on April 17 at 9 a.m.

Board members will then choose one candidate and formally vote on that candidate at a special April 29 School Board meeting at 5:30 p.m.
