The state Constitution currently requires school board members to be elected in nonpartisan races.

A House Republican on Thursday filed a proposed constitutional amendment that would lead to partisan school board elections across the state.
Rep. Spencer Roach, R-North Fort Myers, filed the proposal (HJR 35) for consideration during the 2022 legislative session, which will start in January.
