LEE COUNTY, Fla. – A Lee County student was arrested for bringing multiple weapons to school.
The Lee County Sheriff’s Office wouldn’t confirm the student’s name or what school they went to. Officials did confirm the student was a child of a former law enforcement officer.
A school resource officer was told by the school’s administration that a student had three double-edged throwing knives and a throwing hatchet on school grounds. School administration received a tip from several students saying the student showed a picture of a rifle in class and said the gun was inside their car, according to LCSO.
The student was removed from class and an administrative search was done on the student, their backpack, and car parked on campus, deputies confirmed. A throwing hatchet, ammunition, and three throwing knives were found during the search.
Investigators with LCSO arrested the student for possession of a weapon on school property.
