Pro golfer Justin Rose and his wife Kate are donating $1 million to an Orlando chapter of a nonprofit focused on feeding elementary school children who might otherwise go hungry on non-school days.
The Kate and Justin Rose Foundation announced its plans to donate Wednesday to the “Blessings in a Backpack” Orlando chapter, according to a press release.
The donation will go on to immediately feed 1,000 children and help enhance the food bags they are given. Additionally, the donation will also help start a match program seeking volunteers for new activities in the organization.
The donation comes after the foundation previously donated a grant of $1.15 million last May to found the Orlando chapter, also known as Rose Blessings Orlando.
The organization sought to aid children in need of food while schools remained closed because of COVID-19 last year, according to the release.
